So, this is probably going to sound exceedingly random, especially coming from me, but uh.
What can you guys tell me about PSI? I know a lot of it is probably inexplicable, but whatever you know or know of would be much appreciated.
Am I being creepy yet? I've been kind of curious lately, is all.

There seem to be different varieties of it. Ness, Paula, and I think Poo and Ana realized it on their own (unless Poo discovered it through his
crazy as hellMu training), but Lucas said he had to have it awakened by someone in a hot spring. Kumatora offered to try to drown me in a hot tub to see if we could awaken it in me, but I, uh. Had to pass on that one.no subject
Could I see the notes? If they're not meant to be private or anything.

Oh, yeah. Are you at the school? I'll bring them over.
...I-I'm hoping to get enough to maybe publish a book on it one day, so you can be like a beta reader.

I can be at the school. Sure, I'll beta-read for you
Nevermind the fact that I can't remember the last time I read a book cover-to-cover.(no subject)

There are legends the true origin of PSI comes from space but no one is quite sure. It is undeniably an ancient power, marked by different levels of intensity. "Alpha", "Beta", "Gamma", "Sigma", and "Omega", being the strongest. It's... I'm certain Ness be able to explain it more tangibly than I could.
I hope?*He is no good at explaining feelings Falcon. YOU JUST GOTTA' FEEL THE PK.*My Masters encourage extensive meditation sessions to control psychic abilities.

Oh. Okay, uhm.
...Would the session be just like last time.

If that is a question, I think you know the answer.

I feel like I've always... had the ability for PSI. Like it was an innate power inside me, but was dormant for the beginning of my life. Then it started to make itself known in stages. Small predictions here, hearing chopped portions of people's thoughts there... Nothing too big. It wasn't until I started self-training that my abilities made themselves fully known.
PSI, from what I can tell, is mostly a mental ability. If you think you can do it, you can do it. Even so much as subconscious confidence would be enough to spark something.
I hope that made sense... Truth be told, I don't fully understand it myself.

If you don't mind me asking, how old were you? What exactly...happened? I guess?
HELLO AM I A CREEPER YETno subject
After that, it was just a matter of concentrating. If I tried hard enough, I could force myself to see future events or a particular person's thoughts. There were times when I couldn't control my powers. That's why I started off training slow and easy. It wasn't until I met up with Ness that I really started to gain the rest of my PSI abilities, such as my fire and ice powers.

I've been able to understand animals my whole life. I don't know if that counts as PSI or not, though. Then, um... four years, ago... I met Ionia -- not the Ionia you know, the Magypsy. We were in the hot spring, and she said that she could sense that I had power. So she took me, held me under the water, told me not to struggle, and... um... did... did something to me. It felt really weird at the time, but after she was done... I felt a whole lot different. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I just sort of... knew how to heal people. And use PK Love, too. Ionia thought that part was really weird.
After Ionia awakened my powers, it was really easy to put them to use. I don't know if any of the others had to do a lot of practice, but for me... I get a PSI fever, and then after it breaks, I can use that ability just fine.

So...yours is healing-oriented, mostly?

Learning those ones didn't come as naturally as healing did, though. I had to be hit by lightning before I figured out PK Flash and Thunder.

Why did you send a message to a lot of my friends but not me?

I didn't think to send it to you because I wasn't sure you knew anything about PSI.
Do you know anything about PSI?

Anyway!
I went to the pre-school that Paula's parents run in Twoson - Paula and I are the same age so she was there when I was there, too. I don't remember much from back then but she was a nice girl and I don't think she had any special powers then.
Then some years later a bunch of people started talking about Paula like she could see the future or something, everybody in town was talking about it. And pretty soon after my friend Ness came and he had PSI powers. And I guess Paula did, too.
It just seemed like it was a part of who they were - they were needed to help save the world and they had their abilities and they were exactly what was needed. Even Jeff who doesn't have any PSI powers had his own talent and used that. They all defeated Giygas just by being who they were and finding themselves.
They even needed me to help them defeat Giygas! I made them things that they needed! I was just being myself.
I know a lot about science, but I don't know how PSI works much. Maybe you could study it and find out why. But I think it's people just using something they've always had, being truly who they are, with a wish for a better future.
Paula said they defeated Giygas the first time (and the second time, too, I guess, you were there) when everyone prayed for a bright future. Maybe PSI works like that, too - Ness and Paula and Poo (I don't know much about Poo, though, they met him a long time after Ness and Paula left Twoson) have PSI because they wanted a better future, and they became the people they were always supposed to be. When I made them inventions, I was just being myself - and they defeated Giygas by being themselves.
I know it isn't very scientific, but I think they had PSI because they were just being themselves, because it was part of who they were and why they were needed.

*Read the previous comments so he doesn't repeat anything and sound silly*
Wow, ah, I really don't know much more about PSI than anyone else, in fact I probably understand it even less...and I guess it's more something you feel than anything else. If Poo thinks it comes from space, and if what Ninten's told us is any indication, then maybe it really is incomprehensible, just like, well...magic.
I think I've had PSI ever since I was a baby, but I only really started actually using it when I was 13, going off to fight Giygas. It's hard to explain how it came to me. Maybe saying it sort of "awakened" in me is the best way to phrase it, like it arose out of necessity, but I still don't know why I can use it and most other kids my age can't. Until Giygas came, I never consciously did anything different than what my friends did.
And as for what it is, it's basically mental energy, sort of like telekinesis, and like the others said it can take the form of different elements and can have certain effects depending on what you do to your target. When Paula taught me PK Fire, she told me to picture something hot, and I guess the energy took on the characteristic of fire because of the imagery and sensations I was imagining. Like with what Lucas said, having beforehand experience can help, like if you've seen lightning strike it's easier to manage a PK Thunder.
Other non-elemental PSI can put your opponent to sleep, paralyze them, make them start crying and lots of other things. PK Brainshock is one of them, and Poo and Kumatora are pretty good at using it. I think of it as using your own energy to manipulate your opponent's energy, but I'm sure it's way more complex than that. You just have to imagine what you're doing and the reaction you're aiming for, and with lots of practice you can pull it off on really tough enemies or a bunch of them at once.
Of course, I'm no expert on PSI so I could be wrong. The methods for using PSI aren't the same for all PSI users, and I'm sure the way they think of it is different too. It's probably just one of those things that defies explanation and can't really be put into human terms? I oughta see if I can take a look at Ninten's great grandfather's notes sometime, too...
Does that help? Did you want to learn PSI too, Mr. Falcon?
