I managed to hack Ionia's recent journal. It was a letter to Professor Olimar. She definitely left the school but she didn't say where she was going, just that she had fixed F-Zero and was taking her robots with her. She said she'd taken a weeks worth of transformation balls, so I'd expect her to be back before then...I hope.

...To be honest I thought it was space aids someone ambushed you and gave you a lobotomy or something. I had no clue it was a school-wide thing until a couple days later.
